Antico Pizza Napoletana -Gayle's cousin, JR, raved about the pizza in Atlanta. His daughter and son-in-law introduced him to Antico, authentic Naples style pizza. Their 3 ovens were shipped from Italy (10,000 pounds each). http://www.anticopizza.it/kitchen.html
Phoenix
Do you like fusion cuisine? How about Mexican food and Chinese? Long before it made it to Triple D (Diners, Drive-ins and Dives), I was introduced to Chino's.
What a great concept and extremely well executed! When you first come in you can be a little intimidated. A lot of choices and as a "newbie," a little confusing.
Here are the basics: 1) they have white order forms when you first come in or on the counter. Pick one up and a pen. 2) Choices are essentially one or two main
items (Chinese), a choice of beans, rice and/or other side. The main items can be put into a Burrito or Quesadilla, or as is. 3) As a newbie, go to the counter
and say you are a newbie and would like to try some of the choices. They have little tasting cups and spoons. From mild Emerald Chicken to spicy Jerk Chicken
or Jenred Pork. 4) Once you have selected your one or two main items, put the number(s) down on the order form, put a "Q" or "B" if you want it in a
Quesadilla or Burrito. Select a bean type, the Cuban black bean is outstanding, and a choice of rice, jerk or bbq pork fried rice are really good. If you don't
want rice or beans, you can substitute veggies which is like a mini salad. The rest is pretty straightforward and they will help you at any time. If you order
a softdrink, like many places in Phoenix, just take the cup and go to the other room where the soda machine is located (unlimited refills). They will call your
name and deliver the food to your table.
My personal preference is a Quesadilla style. They grill them to perfection and the different fillings all seem to blend very harmoniously with each other. Oh yeah, almost forgot, I also get the little sides of hoisin sauce and red chili (at the order counter) and will dab them on, depending on the item I have selected. Suggest that you order two items to maximize the experience. My favorites, BBQ pork, Jade Red Chicken and Jenred Pork. If you like spicy try the Pollo Diablo or Jerk Chicken
(a favorite of my son, Garrett). Note: this is a strip mall 15414 N.19th Ave. Suite K, Phoenix, AZ 85032 http://chinobandido.com/index.html
